Donna Miranda
is an independent dance artist living and working in Manila. In 2000, she co-founded Green Papaya Art Projects, establishing a creative platform for contemporary dance through its Anatomy Projects (AP+). Furthermore, developing a working context for process-oriented actions and collaborations that explore the intersection of dance with video, new media, fashion, physical theater, spoken word and sound in Manila.
Currently artist-in-resident at Rimbun Dahan until June 2007, Donna is creating a new performance piece bringing together local Malaysian dancers, video and sound artists to explore the idea of waiting, passing time, momentum and interruption in Extended Periods of Waiting to be shown on June 8 2007 at The Annexe Gallery, Central Market. In lieu of creating discursive spaces for engaging, seeing and doing dance to wider audience, Donna is seeking potential collaborators to participate and conspire in situating contemporary dance beyond the stage. Calling artists working in new media, video, performance, fashion, theater and dance to come, see, listen, dance, let's drink and party!
